I’m Christen Peterson, founder of Voice & Vision Consulting, LLC, and I have two decades of experience in out-of-school-time and youth development programming. My career has been grounded in community-based work, afterschool programs, summer camps, international service learning, and staff development, always with a focus on belonging, culture, and care.

I am a certified Child and Youth Care professional with advanced training in asset-based community development, youth participatory action research, qualitative research methods, and culturally responsive and affirming practices for youth of color, particularly African American youth. My work is shaped by both academic research and real-world practice in informal learning environments.

At my core, I am a teacher, facilitator, and partner. I believe in meeting organizations where they are, honoring that everyone begins this work from different levels of understanding of themselves, of systems, and of the communities they serve. My role is to walk alongside programs as they grow, reflect, and strengthen their practices with humility, care, and intention.
